I came across this Scripture Memory System which I think is quite creative, interesting and very well organized. I think this would be a very helpful resource to parents who want to work on Scripture memorization with their children. Scripture memory is a much neglected spiritual discipline in our day. Yes, it can be a daunting task and may some times feel impossible. But it is possible. Everyone can do it – even those who think that they have a bad memory. If you can remember your phone number, your home address and the names of your friends, your memory is good enough to memorize Scripture. Most of us can do it but it’s mainly a matter of consistent discipline.
This Scripture Memory System was put together mainly to help parents work on Scripture memory with their children. How wonderful! Imagine a whole family working together to memorize God’s Word! There are so many other noble and fun things that families can and perhaps should do together. But there is nothing nobler and funnier than memorizing Scripture together. Hiding God’s Word in our hearts pays eternal dividends and that cannot be equaled by anything that we do together in this world (no matter how noble/fun).
So, parents and fathers in particular, if you are looking for a way to get your family on the road to Scripture memorization, here is a tool that can help you with your first step(s) on that journey! Remember, that Scripture memory is not a race, but a lifelong habit.

Psalm 119:9, 11: “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:9, 11).
